New Where the Wild Things Are news

On June 5th, reshoots are scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on Where the Wild Things Are, director Spike Jonze’s borderline infamous adaptation of the classic, visceral and delightfully weird children’s book by Maurice Sendak. Jonze’s mission? According to Bloody Disgusting, Warner Brothers has scheduled reshoots for Jonze's film, which will take place in Los Angeles from June 5-30. They say: "It is unclear how much is being reshot, but there are new casting calls out for various stand-in roles."

There are reports of test screenings bringing children to tears and them having to leave the screening. I think it is likely that these reshoots are so that they can eliminate some of the "scarier" stuff. This totally blows for any adult wishing for a good film based on a childhood favorite book.

This film has had so much trouble so far in getting it's feet off the ground. I hope it works out.
