Apatow producing Ghostbusters III ?!
Word on the interweb (to confirm early rumors and a personal belief held by myself), Judd Apatow has signed on to produce the upcoming film, Ghostbusters III. According to CinemaBlend.com,
Apatow's Production company has been listed directly next to the title Ghostbusters III in this week's Productions Weekly.
While it doesn't state in any form that he is directing the film - I think it surely could be a possibility - especially if the Apatow Gang is going to be brought into the film as a sort of "new Ghostbusters team" as we have heard before.
While this is something that could have been assumed long ago, it is nice to see some more solid facts on the matter. I think this could be a really refreshing and quite exciting way to take the Ghostbusters saga. As long as the old Ghostbusters aren't kicked to the curb immediately for the Apatow crew, I'm down.

Give me Ivan Reitman
You might still get Reitman. Apatow at this point is only producing. I think I'm fine with either one - we can be sure that BOTH of them will be involved in some fashion. But just looking at directing. I don't really see Reitman as having a clear distinct style that would make him any better or worse than Apatow. I could go either way. But the old Ghostbusters MUST play a significant role.
We may not even get this with Reitman, but I feel that with him we might get old school effects. but if you look at Evolution we see that he has embraced the new technologies. so maybe we are screwed either way when it comes to how they go about making the ghosts. I vote mostly Practical. Plus im a Puritan about everything and don't like change which is why the OG's better be the ones who save the day.
Plus who knows maybe if Apatow directs, maybe he will be nostalgic enough to use practical effects. here's hoping!
