Remem
ber back in 1982 when we were given our first encounter with John Rambo on the big screen? I know I don't. I wasn't born yet. I wasn't introduced to Rambo until I was a toddler being babysat by my Aunt and Uncle. I should drop them a 'Thank You Letter' for having no discretion when it came to sitting me in front of movies dripping with violence and swearing. In fact, I need to drop a 'Thank You Letter' to pretty much everyone who raised me for that same reason.  It was a great childhood I tell ya!

Variety reports that Nu Image/Millennium Films has greenlit the franchise's fifth installment, with Sylvester Stallone starring and directing.

The upcoming project's storyline revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border. Production will start in the spring.

The film will be produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King Templeton and John Thompson. Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson will exec produce.

I love the first two films surrounding Rambo, the third was alright, and 2008's Rambo was pretty much off the chains. I'm a little surprised a fifth movie is in the works. I thought Stallone did a fantastic job of capping off the franchise in the 2008 movie. Story wise, I don't think a fifth Rambo is needed (Not that 2-4 were ever really needed), but when you have a cash cow you might as well cash in, right? With that being said, I also have to say that i am REALLY excited about this! Stallone is the man! I'm pumped for the possibility that much of the film may take place in the US. I think that's a good route to take considering we haven't really seen him in action on US soil since First Blood.

All in all, I'm Hyped!
