George Carlin passes away
Comedic legend George Carlin has passed away at the age of 71 (Sunday June 22, 2008). Carlin, who had a history of heart problems, died at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica about 6 p.m. PDT (9 p.m. EDT) after being admitted earlier in the afternoon for chest pains.
The legend known for his "dirty jokes" and crude sense of humor was set to receive the "Mark Twain prize for American Humor" award from the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. It was to be presented to Carlin on November 10th.
He will be missed.
